We are Plasman. And we are One Driving Force. Plasman is currently seeking a new member to join our PURCHASING team as a:
BUYER Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with exceptional communication skills who will be responsible for purchasing raw materials, production and tooling related equipment, supplies and/or services for their designated sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement of materials and services to support manufacturing operations by developing and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and trends, negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements.
- Collaborate with internal departments to assess procurement needs and establish priorities, identifying cost savings opportunities to meet or exceed annual targets.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production teams to prevent material shortages; communicate to all stakeholders to present alternative solutions, expedite or manage constraint plans for delivery issues, and escalate as needed.
- Support assigned facilities with physical inventories, follow inbound expedites, coordinate in plant deliveries.
- Ensure a personal and associate awareness to all quality and business-related operating systems (ISO/IATF), and work in compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all purchasing activities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Post secondary degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics is preferred; a combination of education, training and years of working experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills to manage supplier relationships effectively.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems (Trans4M).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work setting.
