Job Summary

Reporting the Manager, Recruitment and Admissions within the Faculty of Law, the Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator supports the daily administration and operations of the Faculty of Law Recruitment and Admissions Office for the Juris Doctor ("JD") Program. The Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator is responsible for the planning and coordination of unit/department-wide tasks, activities and/or projects and supervision of casual employees and work study students. The regular hours of work for this position will be 35 hours per week and may vary on a regular basis. Some overtime on evenings and weekends is required during peak periods of the recruitment and admissions cycle. The Faculty of Law seeks an outgoing and dynamic individual who is excited about recruitment and admissions. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with prospective students, marketing and event coordination experience, organizational skills, and attention to detail. What you will do
- Evaluates admission and scholarship applications for prospective students and makes admission decisions and
recommendations.
- Provides advice and guidance to applicants, schools, students, and families on admission qualifications, policies,
program details, and financial assistance programs.

Identifies target markets for enrollment objectives and liaises with alumni network to encourage student recruitment.

Participates in information sessions and student interviews in a variety of locales.

Prepares targeted communications and presentations to support student recruitment and enrollment.

Prepares statistical reports and interprets the results of recruiting trends, opportunities or potential issues.

Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.
Required Education
- Three-year Community College Diploma or Three-Year Bachelor Degree, or equivalent.
o in business administration preferred. or
o in education preferred. or
o in marketing preferred.
o in law preferred.
Required Experience
- More than 2 years and up to and including 3 years of experience.
o Experience in client and/or customer experience functions considered an asset.
o Experience planning, coordinating and/or managing events or promotions considered an asset.
o Previous experience developing and delivering workshops considered an asset.
o Experience in writing, interviewing, reviewing, editing and/or proofreading internal and/or external
communications and documents considered an asset (e.g., social media, policy manuals, newletters,
handbooks, legal documents, forms/templates, blogs, training/reference materials, technical documents,
webinars, etc.).
o Experience with providing administrative support considered an asset (e.g., document editing, proofing,
formatting and production, data entry, scheduling/coordinating meetings and/or travel arrangements,
receiving/relaying messages, etc.).
o Experience working in a general legal environment considered an asset
o Experience working with diverse populations/equity deserving groups considered an asset.
o Experience working at a post-secondary education institution considered an asset.
o Experience in data, trend analysis and reporting considered an asset.
o Experience with operating systems technologies considered an asset (e.g., Linux OS, Windows OS, AD
Forests, Domains, Trusts, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and Organizational Units, VMware, VM backups tools,
etc.).
Required Licenses and Certifications
- G Driver's Licence required.
Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.

combination of technical or academic qualification and/or work experience.

- Lead procedural or technological change within a unit.
- Identify new problems and seek information and input to fully understand the cause of problems.
- Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work processes.
- Draw logical conclusions and provides opinions and recommendations.
- Research equity, diversity, accessibility and inclusion resources and best practices relevant to the job and unit
operations in order to inform evidence-based planning.
