Sample Login Technician
Summary:
To receive samples from clients in a professional manner and enter them into the MaxxLims within the same day of reception.
Key Accountability/Responsibilities:
- Enter all samples into a MaxxLims system according to established Standard Operating Procedures in shortest time possible;
- Inspect the document requirements and communicate any abnormalities or unacceptable conditions to the project manager teams or to client directly;
- Sample received must be prioritised according to holding times and rush (24hrs, 48hrs, 72hrs) or regular turnaround;
- Ensure all test codes are entered accurately and rapidly such that turnaround times can be respected and client satisfaction maintained;
- Once samples have been entered into the MaxxLims, send a confirmation to the client;
- Send out any tests that require subcontracting to an accredited laboratory that has been designated by supervisor;
- Occasionally receive clients in a friendly and professional manner at the reception area;
- Work in a team with the customer service group (project managers/assistants) to ensure that all samples received are entered into the MaxxLims within the same day of reception;
- Assist with bottle order preparation and front office reception tasks (if required);
- Follow and maintain the organisation's quality assurance policies and procedures;
- Participate in the continual development for optimising sample entry tasks;
- Other responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
Skills and Knowledge:
- DES or its equivalent;
- Laboratory experience is an asset;
- Very good computer skills;
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Applicant must be a reliable, responsible and a motivated individual capable of establishing priorities and working in a team;
- Energetic personality that can manage and enjoys working with stress and tight guidelines in a professional manner.
Work conditions:
- Full time position (37.5 hours);
- Schedule: Monday to Friday 10AM to 6PM (available for overtime 1-2 hours/day and Saturdays on rotation)
- Ability to work on your feet for long hours;
- Ability to lift coolers going up to 50lbs.
