Your future role on our team
BBA is currently seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to join a Canadian-wide team that offers high-quality expertise and consulting services. As a senior engineer, you’ll support the growth of the local team by leading projects in the advanced fuels and chemicals (AFC) and oil and gas sectors as well as build and strengthen client relationships. You’ll also play a key role to help develop the local team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.

- Help develop and scale up processes and projects in the oil and gas, advanced fuels and chemicals sectors
- Work closely on projects with our national and international teams, contributing to a shared bottom-line
- Support growth in Western Canada by driving business development opportunities, leveraging your network to generate proposals, delivering presentations to new clients and building strong relationships by consistently providing high-quality work
- Lead and support the AFC process team in executing projects across various industry sectors, managing both single- and multidisciplinary mandates of varying sizes
- Lead and support the AFC process team by organizing, preparing and reviewing process engineering deliverables such as mass and energy balances using simulation software; developing process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and technical specifications for process equipment; and
- completing technical and economic studies
- Participate in risk assessment studies (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, What-if)

Summary of certifications and job requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering
- Over 3 years of experience in a consulting firm
- Over 8 years of relevant experience in project execution in the advanced fuels and chemicals, oil and gas or chemicals industry
- Strong knowledge of chemical engineering principles
- P. Eng. designation in Alberta or eligibility to register with the APEGA
- Proficient with Aspen Plus and Aspen HYSYS process simulation software
- Proficient with Fathom or other simulation software for hydraulic calculations
- Excellent written and spoken communication
- Asset: Bilingual (English and French)
