Position Summary
The Shipper/Receiver plays an integral role in ensuring our products reach customers on time and in excellent condition. This position offers the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team while strengthening valuable skills in organization, communication, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Process all shipping documents for domestic, U.S., and overseas shipments.
- Prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other required documentation.
- Estimate freight or postal rates and record shipment costs and weights.
- Verify and classify goods using tariff coding systems.
- Coordinate and negotiate with shipping or freight companies and arrange insurance coverage.
- Ensure proper packaging, bracing, and weight distribution for safe transport.
- Verify shipment contents and maintain accurate shipping records.
- Manage stock receipt and cycle count processes to achieve inventory accuracy targets.
- Check incoming materials against documentation and PO requirements.
- Support the Subcon process and maintain accurate material flow.
- Handle customer returns and investigate discrepancies or issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and safety best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education & Training
- Forklift and Overhead Crane Certification (required).
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
Experience & Skills
- 3+ years in manufacturing operations.
- 3+ years handling international customs paperwork.
- 2+ years working with ERP systems and logistics platforms (FedEx, UPS, Purolator, etc.).
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and maintains strong follow-through.
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, carrying, and reaching.
- Strong attention to detail and English communication (written and verbal).
