The chosen candidate will be expected to teach lessons, manage their classrooms effectively, maintain supportive relationships, and contribute to the school's extracurricular life.
Vacancy Summary
Location: St. Lawrence School – Vancouver, BC
Position: Full-time (1.0 FTE) Teaching Position – Middle and High School
(grades 9-12) Science Curriculum
Compensation Package: Subject to Experience
Start Date: Classes begin in September 2026
Preference __will be given to candidates with the following qualifications :
- Committed to educational excellence.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with internal and external community members.
- Understanding of other cultures and the ability to communicate in cross-cultural environments.
- Ability to be tactful, demonstrate excellent judgment, and work as a positive and collaborative team member.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, teachers, parents, staff and community members.
- Ability to identify and assist students with emotional and other health concerns.
- Enthusiastic, energetic, a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Well-organized, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- A willingness to follow the school's policies and procedures.
- Enjoy leadership in extra-curricular student-based activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other educational technology.
The following is to be included in your application:
- Cover letter and resume, listing special certificates, licenses, honours and awards.
- Relevant special interests or activities for which after-school club leadership could be considered.
- BC Teaching Qualifications Certificate (or confirmation of application for certification)
