Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position requiring candidates to work on-site at least 2 days per week at our designated office location in Mississauga, ON. The remaining days may be worked remotely, subject to team and business needs.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Public Relations and Communications, the Sr. Advisor, Digital Content will be responsible for the development, strategy and execution of our digital strategy including social media management and web management and be a foundational communications partner to the external communications team in the creation of content for brand, PR and narrative.
We are looking for a passionate social media and digital expert who understands how to analyze social media performance and optimize social media and web channels to grow audience engagement and who is just as comfortable creating impactful content as they are building a strategic plan. Your expertise will guide how the company communicates on its online platforms, helping to shape a consistent and compelling online presence and engage target audiences across the business. You stay ahead of the curve on social media and digital best practices and apply to your day-to-day.
The successful candidate must work with multiple corporate and business unit stakeholders that are aligned with the company's business priorities. This role is best suited for a high achiever with a high level of proactivity and a proven track-record of managing successful social media and digital campaigns.
Section A – Specific Responsibilities:
Digital Content and Content:
- We’re looking for a team member with strong creative instincts and excellent communications skills to tell a compelling story through visual, written posts and video who has both an analytical and strategic mindset; to continually rise the bar on digital content.
- You may be creating high impact written posts, visual assets and videos to tell the McKesson Canada story and the value we bring to healthcare.
- Other projects as assigned in brand, PR, thought leadership and events which include key message development, PowerPoint presentation creation, briefing book and speeches as assigned.
Social Media:
- Build and develop the social media calendar from concept to execution including content campaign creation and strategy.
- Develop and execute data-driven social media strategies to grow brand awareness, engagement, and follower base across platforms.
- Create and curate compelling content tailored to platform-specific audiences, including copy, visuals, and video.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to source stories, amplify initiatives, and support campaigns.
- Monitor performance metrics and audience insights to refine content strategy and improve ROI. Create regular reports.
- Monitor online conversations, particularly for issues management.
- Direct and manage paid campaigns on corporate social channels.
- Execute executive-level social media strategy by serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on digital communications and thought leadership, shaping and amplifying key messages across platforms.
- Stay current with social media trends, tools, and best practices to ensure innovative and effective engagement.
Website:
- Manage and maintain website content, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and a seamless user experience.
- Collaborate with internal teams to update and optimize web pages based on evolving business needs and user behaviour.
- Monitor website performance using Google Analytics and other tools; generate ad hoc reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Advise on SEO best practices to improve search visibility and organic traffic.
- Coordinate with developers and designers to troubleshoot issues and enhance site functionality.
Partnership:
- Cross-functional team member working closely with a number of stakeholders across the business in particular, executive members, communications and marketing and U.S. social media team.
Measurement and Reporting:
- Track, analyze, and report on social performance to quantify impact and drive actionable learnings.
- Responsible for quarterly and annual social media and digital reports that draws direct line to content strategy.
- Implement tracking/KPI methods to better understand effectiveness and optimize campaigns.
Section B – Position Requirements and Qualifications:
- 5+ years in digital communications and social media management.
- Experience managing a social media agency, digital agency.
- PR and corporate communications experience is an asset.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, an eye for detail and accuracy.
- Highly creative.
- SEO best practices an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into high impact digital content.
- Deep understanding of various platform algorithms, social analytics and social listening tools.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Experience developing digital strategies and reporting.
- Experience working within a large corporate environment.
- Expertise in B2B digital engagement an asset.
- Healthcare experience an asset.
- Bilingualism (French/English) an asset.
- Ability to create digital assets using graphic design, Canva.
- Technical skills: Sprout Social, Asana or project management tool, Outlook, Liferay or similar backend content management, Google Analytics.
- Social Media channel management expertise: LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube.
- Self-directed, proactive with a strong ability to prioritize.
- Must be able to work with tight deadlines and react quickly to changing priorities.
- Must be able to develop news angles from a corporate business environment that is appropriate for digital.
- A good team player, ability to work cross functionally and build strong relationships both internally and externally.
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, collaborative, and iterative environment.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
