About the role
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining the university’s chart of accounts and related financial authorities; review and reconciliation of capital and non-capital project budgets; providing financial support to end-users in both the administration and the academic field; financial administration of funds overseen by the Controller’s office; the provision of operational support for the Financial Services department
Qualifications:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
- Knowledge of accounting practices and terminology
- Knowledge of office as well as the broader university academic units, departments, and divisions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of university policies and procedures
- Have strong skills in spreadsheet analysis and a high degree of competency with Microsoft Office software, including but not limited to, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet browsers
- Have a strong understanding of Carleton University Financial Management Systems
Education and Experience:
The above is normally acquired through :
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in commerce, Business or Accounting
- Minimum of three years’ experience with business administration and/or accounting duties
