The School of Health and Wellness is hiring Full-Time Nursing Instructors for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program commencing employment August 5, 2026. This is a permanent faculty position, officially classified as ‘Probationary Continuous’—meaning you’ll join our team as a full-time instructor with long-term stability and comprehensive benefits.
Our collaborative four-year BScN degree with the University of Alberta prepares graduates to write the NCLEX and become Registered Nurses. As an instructor, you’ll teach in classrooms, labs, and clinical settings, inspire future nurses, and enjoy professional development opportunities in a supportive, innovative environment. Faculty may be assigned instructional workload that requires travel to urban and rural locations in addition to teaching on the RDP campus.

Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):

Teaching students in classroom, lab, and/or clinical settings with flexibility for both face-to-face and online course delivery.
-
Travelling to urban and rural clinical sites as needed for clinical teaching (Red Deer Regional Hospital, long term care facilities, rural sites, etc.).

Creating a stimulating, effective, and learner-centered environment.
-
Preparing, reviewing, and/or updating course material.
-
Marking, grading, and evaluation of student work.
-
Providing ongoing feedback, guidance, and assistance to students.
-
Actively contributing and participating in program planning, curriculum development, and review, project work, and scholarly activity.
-
Participating in School and Polytechnic-wide initiatives and/or committees.
-
Upholding the Professional Responsibilities of Faculty at RDP, which are described within the Faculty Performance Policy.

Demonstrating and promoting RDP organizational values and following RDP policies and practices.
Required Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Nursing or related discipline
-
Registered Nurse with current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
-
Current Heart and Stroke Foundation Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider or Recertification Certificate, or willingness to obtain upon hire
-
Current Immunizations as per RDP requirements

Respiratory Fit Testing

Valid Driver’s License
-
A satisfactory Criminal Record Check

Recent clinical, acute care, or practical experience

Benefits and Compensation Information
Compensation is determined by the highest academic credential received and related experience. Please see the attached Faculty Salary Grids: Current FARDP Full-Time and Part-Time Faculty Grids
The Faculty Association at Red Deer Polytechnic (FARDP) and the related Collective Agreement provides information on compensation for Instructors at Red Deer Polytechnic.
Continuous Probationary:
- Receive 45 days of paid vacation annually in addition to paid time off due to Institution closures between Christmas and New Year
- Eligible for comprehensive benefits, health and dental package, including a Health Spending Account.
- Eligible for individual professional development funding, additional free professional development opportunities offered through the institution, and tuition free classes.
Eligibility to access the above mentioned benefits is dependent upon the FARDP Collective Agreement and related RDP policies.
