Who you are
- 2+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React
- Experience building or maintaining SDKs, libraries, or developer-facing components
- Familiarity with Node.js, Express, or similar backend frameworks, or an eagerness to learn
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication, and web standards
- Strong sense of ownership and attention to detail in UI/UX implementation
- Experience with testing tools

What the job involves
- The Messaging Experience team builds and evolves Ada’s core chat experience, social channels and SDKs - the “front door” to millions of customer interactions every day. Our work directly impacts the usability, performance, and reliability of Ada’s AI Agent across web and mobile platforms
- As an Engineer on the Messaging Experience team, you’ll focus on building accessible, high-quality chat interfaces and SDKs that help Ada’s clients seamlessly integrate our product into their own environments
- You’ll be primarily frontend-leaning, working with modern web technologies to craft engaging, performant user experiences. You’ll also have opportunities to deepen your backend and AI engineering skills by contributing to our chat platform APIs, event pipelines, and integrations with Ada’s Reasoning Engine
- Ship well-tested, maintainable code with clear validation steps
- Help evolve our SDK architecture to improve performance, developer experience, and scalability
- Debug cross-platform issues and ensure consistency across browsers, devices, and frameworks
- Contribute to the development of new chat features that enhance automation, personalization, and reliability
- Pair to learn more about message routing, queueing, and AI-powered messaging flows
- Document edge cases, risks, and architectural decisions to strengthen team knowledge
- Continuously improve our build, test, and deployment loops to reduce friction in development
- Outcomes:
- Deliver high-quality SDK features that improve the usability and reliability of Ada’s chat platform
- Grow into a well-rounded full-stack engineer by contributing across frontend, backend, and AI integration work
- Help modernize our SDK architecture for enterprise scalability
- Strengthen our developer experience through great documentation, testing, and tooling
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production issues for the services the team owns
- Bring ideas and perspective to level up our engineering practices and team culture
