Machine Operator - Level 1 (Afternoon Shift)

About the role
The Machine Operator operates a variety of machinery used in the nutraceutical industry. Responsibilities may include setup, tear-down, operating, cleaning and troubleshooting machines. The job holder is required to take instruction, work independently or as part of a team to ensure both the quality and quantity of manufactured products.
Permanent Full-Time (37.5 hours)
Monday to Friday 2:15 pm – 10:15 pm
This position requires you to work at both our Pitt Meadows and Coquitlam facilities. Please note that the Pitt Meadows facility has limited access to public transportation, so having a personal vehicle is preferred.
This position also requires you to be clean-shaven (no facial hair) to ensure a proper respirator fit and to comply with safety protocols, including WorkSafeBC regulations.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
- Monitor the machine during operation and perform in-process checks, making adjustments as necessary
- Perform troubleshooting tasks during production
- Operate machinery (such as a blenders, tableting/encapsulation/coating machines and mobile equipment)
- Dissemble, clean, sanitize, assemble machine and auxiliary equipment. Clean rooms
- Perform general maintenance of machinery, including care of machine parts and tooling
You have:
- A minimum two years of continuous manufacturing experience from a single company.
- Mechanical experience, safely operating and setting up machines while using a diverse selection of hand tools
- Demonstrated ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment where lifting up to 50 lbs. is routinely required.
- Flexibility to work the morning shift during the first two months of employment to receive hands-on training with designated trainers.
- No concerns wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators, hairnets, CSA-approved safety shoes, and company-provided work attire.
- A keen focus on the little things and an understanding of the importance of attention to detail. You understand that no one thing can be overlooked, especially sacrificing quality.
