About this role:
As an Aftercare Specialist at Kelly Funeral Homes/Capital Funeral Home located in Ottawa, Ontario, you’ll make a meaningful difference by guiding families through important steps after a loss. You’ll handle notifications and cancellations of government entitlements. When appropriate, you’ll also introduce families to future planning options with care and sensitivity, ensuring they feel supported every step of the way.

Job Type: Part Time, Permanent
Vacancy Status: This is a current vacancy, and we are actively seeking to fill this role.
Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Excellent knowledge of funeral home procedures and business practices including Everyday Excellence and Funeral Home Procedures Manuals.
- Demonstrates active community involvement and establishes a positive profile of the Funeral Home within the community.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; verbal, written and presentation.
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills with the ability to partner will all levels of the organization.
- Exemplifies Arbor’s values of integrity, trust, teamwork, belonging and excellence.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract is a mandatory requirement for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Cancellation of government entitlements and notifying government offices of the death.
- Mailing and filing of paperwork.
- Tracking families contacted and follow up as directed.
- Monitoring and distribution of aftercare forms.
- Promoting Aftercare & Lifestyle programs.
- Participating in Funeral Home events as requested.
- Shares leads via option agreement.
- Other duties may be assigned as required, in addition to the principal duties and responsibilities outlined above.

First established in 1947, the Company is now comprised of 41 cemeteries, 27 crematoria and 92 funeral homes.
