Position Description

Vision Integrity (VI) is looking for an Asset Integrity Engineer-in-Training (EIT) who lives within an hour of Calgary, AB to provide engineering consulting services to the Oil and Gas Industry. The successful candidate will be trained and mentored to fulfill the responsibilities indicated below.

Position Summary:

  • Complete Fitness for Service Assessments
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis
  • Code Calculations
  • Assist in Repairs and Alterations of Pressure Equipment, storage tanks, structural, etc.
  • Develop and maintain pipeline risk assessments.
  • Complete Pipeline Engineering Assessments
  • Develop and maintain pipeline and pressure equipment integrity management programs.
  • Audit owner/user and vendor quality management programs
  • Complete API 510/570 Visual Inspections
  • Turnaround Support – Engineering and Inspection Services

Less than 10% travel will be required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Engineer-in-Training Registered in the Province of Alberta (APEGA)

  • Mechanical Engineering Discipline preferred

  • Additional industry related education/certifications considered an asset, these include, but are not limited to:

    • API 510 – Pressure Vessel Equipment Inspector
    • API 570 – Pressure Piping Inspector
    • Relevant AMPP Certifications – Basic Corrosion, CP, etc.
  • Competency with Microsoft products including:

    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Microsoft Outlook
  • Some experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulations would be an asset.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients

  • Driven individual who is also able to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Class 5 Drivers License

Experience

Experience in the Alberta Oil and Gas Industry is an asset.
