About the role

Position Summary

this position is responsible for the cleanliness of all kitchen areas, culinary equipment and utensils including all dishes, glasses and pots/pans while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizes, rinses, sprays and loads dishes/cutlery into dishwasher or washes by hand as required
  • Checks completed load for cleanliness and re-wash if necessary
  • Reports any malfunctions, breakage or discrepancies to the supervisor
  • Stores all clean items in the appropriate area
  • Sorts and removes garbage and recycling
  • Cleans all general kitchen areas including floors, counters and workspaces
  • Assists with the receipt of goods into the work area and stock shelves
  • Prepares some food products as requested
  • May clean general and common areas in some locations
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and employees)
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Education and Qualification Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weight (minimum of 11.5 kg or 25 lbs)
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment; and
  • Must have a safety mindset for self and others.
  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to exceed internal customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Minimum 6 months work experience
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required

Work Environment Considerations

  • Work within a 24/7 operation with ability to work flexible hours when required (days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays) Willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to our organization, standards and position
