Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking a Manager, Enterprise Applications Solutions to work out of our Mill Site location. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of Al-Pac’s Enterprise Solutions. Leading a team of functional and IT professionals, the Manager will be the single point of contact, as it relates to the deployment, and support of AL Pac’s portfolio of SAP and non-SAP solutions, for Al Pac users, suppliers, and members of Al Pac’s IT team. Responsibilities
Provide oversight, and day to day management of Al Pac’s SAP and non-SAP solutions and resources. Assign tasks and duties to IT analysts and team members, including co-managed service providers. Continually evaluate the risk position of Al Pac’s SAP solutions throughout their product lifecycle. Work with Business Process Owners, Super Users, and functional specialists to plan, design and implement new SAP functionality to support business users and processes. Ensure seamless integration between SAP solutions and Al Pac’s non-SAP applications and work directly with SAP and other support vendors to resolve and remediate specific issues that are impeding end user access Following the defined IT Change Management methodology and working with the Sustainment Community Lead, manage, organize, plan, control and monitor all tasks and resources required to achieve defined project goals. Control project tasks throughout the life of an approved project, according to the Al-Pac defined change methodology to ensure benefits, costs, quality, risks, scope, and time frames are met. Support ongoing optimization of service levels. Monitor vendor performance across projects and services and ensure that vendor services are delivered in line with contractual commitments. Be responsible for the formalization of service level agreements. Monitor co-managed services for SLA compliance. Be responsible for commercial issues resolution and support the IT Director in negotiations with the enterprise vendors and partners. Assist in defining IT policies and principles that align with and support the delivery of Al Pac’s Enterprise Solutions. Work in collaboration with Al-Pac’s technology team and partners to proactively ensure IT security is appropriately addressed across Al-Pac’s technology environment. Lead the Enterprise Applications Solutions team in accordance with Al-Pac’s policies, processes and best practices. Set work plans, annual goals, and performance and development plans for direct reports. Lead the planning, execution, monitoring and successful delivery of IT projects and programs in alignment with business objectives and strategic priorities.
Qualifications
Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma or its equivalent in information and communication technologies or computing science. 7-10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated mastery in troubleshooting and managing information and communications technology is required. 10+ years progressively related work experience. 3-5 years’ people leadership experience. Experience working with and leading teams in an SAP S4/Hana environment. Experience or exposure working with Al Pac’s secondary business applications including but not limited to LIMS, LRMS, GEO-Spatial ESRI, web applications, DBA tools. Certifications in project management, organizational change management and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL 4) are desirable. Experience in strategic planning and execution as well as experience in the forestry sector setting is desirable, specifically in technology and information systems strategy to support business goals. Working knowledge of computer networking, technology infrastructure, and information technology security. Working knowledge of computing environments, trends, and market players.

Works under general direction within a clear framework of accountability. Exercises substantial personal responsibility and autonomy. Must be able to influence business leaders, suppliers, and end users at a business function level. Awareness of SAP technology trends, specific to hybrid cloud, and technical environments, including co-managed delivery of services, is required. Has a thorough understanding of recognized industry bodies of knowledge and specialist bodies of knowledge as it relates to managing and oversight of SAP S4/Hana. Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information and concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Seeks out specialist security knowledge or advice when required. Maintains an awareness of developments in the technology and forestry industries.
