What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Sr. Director Specialized Advice, the Director, Specialized Advice, Business Effectiveness will focus on five key areas in support of the Specialized Advice team (encompassing of Mobile Advice & Financial Planning & Advice teams) with a focus on business effectiveness, and providing leadership and subject matter expertise in all aspects of business management activities. Collaborate closely with their team, Senior Leadership, the Specialized Advice National Office, and the PBB National Office to drive and implement key strategic initiatives. Foster strong partnerships with Personal Banking, Imperial Service, and PBB National Office teams to coordinate efforts, share insights, and ensure alignment on new initiatives, communications, business updates, and conferences. Lead and support the planning and execution of strategic initiatives, business updates, conferences, and year-end activities for the Specialized Advice team. The incumbent will act as the point of escalation and contact with key internal stakeholders and partner groups in support of the business to ensure that the strategic priorities of Specialized Advice, in alignment with Personal & Business Banking strategies, are understood and achieved.

How you’ll succeed
- Strategic alignment - Lead and support strategic initiatives, business updates, conferences, and year-end planning activities for the Specialized Advice team, in collaboration with the Sr. Director, Specialized Advice. Provide recommendations and insights to senior leaders on business management and operational activities/initiatives impacting Specialized Advice business. Support the Sr. Director, Specialized Advice in business planning, ensuring alignment with overall PBB process, deliverables, and timelines
- Operational excellence & process improvement - Partner with the Growth and Operational Effectiveness team to ensure proper change management and communication is in place to execute strategies. Provide direction and oversight for ongoing operational activities (e.g., evolving the operating model, organizing conferences and townhalls, talent strategy, business updates, one-for-change strategy). Provide continuous improvement to existing processes, ensuring their output is delivered effectively and efficiently. Monitor progress on key initiatives, identifying risks and opportunities to ensure successful outcomes. Centralize HR and administrative processes to drive efficiency and consistency across the business unit, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. Partner effectively across PBB National Office business functions to engage expertise and delivery support for initiatives, projects, and content; provide regular updates and insights back to the Sr. Director, Specialized Advice. Collaborate with Personal Banking, Imperial Service, and PBB national office teams to coordinate and share insights for new initiatives, communications, business updates, and conferences. Maintain a strong understanding of the Specialized Advice ecosystem to assess partner change impacts on Mobile Advice and FP&A roles, operations, and strategies.
- Communication & executive support - Build communications and collateral in delivery of executive messaging to Specialized Advice senior leadership team. Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports to assist in executive decision-making and management of day-to-day business activities. Creation of PowerPoint presentations to support Specialized Advice senior leaders and executives with delivering key information, strategic initiatives, and business updates. Set appropriate context when requesting content and data from partners to ensure the output supports achievement of Specialized Advice team’s priorities and CIBC’s overall goals. Organize and coordinate leadership meetings, offsites, and strategic planning sessions.
- Leadership - Foster collaboration and alignment among peer leaders to achieve shared business objectives. Provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues, promoting best practices and a high-performance culture. Create a positive work environment and be an effective role model by championing CIBC’s mission, vision, and values. Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. Represent the Sr. Director, Specialized Advice, as a delegate in meetings, projects, and partner engagement when required. Proactively manage priorities and deliverables to keep leadership teams organized, focused, and on track.
