Your Opportunity Alumni Relations at DUA serves to build lifelong relationships with alumni and friends from around the world. We accomplish this through a team that is responsible for developing compelling and relevant Alumni engagement initiatives designed build affinity and connection with U of T community of over 700,000 Alumni worldwide. We hire outstanding people from a variety of backgrounds and currently seek a Manager, Global Alumni Engagement to join our diverse group of talent.

The Manager, Global Alumni Engagement is responsible for the development, effective implementation, tracking and measurement of innovativemarket-specific Alumni initiatives which meet the unique needs of Alumni by geographic market and life-stage, extend the reach of U of T’s rich and extensive academic offerings, fully integrate with and support the University’s fundraising goals, and elevate the University of Toronto’s brand and reputation in strategic markets. Further, the manager is responsible for identifying and cultivating volunteers both locally and around the world, and overseeing the curation of DUA’s academic content offerings to the university’s alumni and friends.

Informed by industry, alumni and demographic data, market research insights, previous program results, and a significant degree of knowledge and of the University’s structure, mandate and strategic priorities; the Manager will develop Regional initiatives that establish sustainable alumni engagement and loyalty by market, and support and extend Divisional regional Alumni engagement and development efforts. To that end, the incumbent will proactively collaborate with internal partners to define Alumni audiences, develop relevant programming, cultivate and engage faculty and alumni leaders to provide content, and deliver flawless online and offline programming and events that positions the University of Toronto as a world-class teaching and research university, and is consistent with calibre and reputation of the University of Toronto. In addition, the Manager is responsible for identifying, cultivating and facilitating local alumni volunteer efforts in regional locations in support of the University of Toronto’s goals and objectives.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Developing components of programs and initiatives that advance strategic objectives
  • Develop a comprehensive program infrastructure to ensure consistency of program delivery from across Alumni Relations as it relates to academic content
  • Developing and implementing targeted outreach initiatives
  • Cultivating ongoing, high-profile prospective partnerships that advance strategic agendas. Stewarding relationships with program speakers, both faculty and alumni, manage stakeholder relations
  • Analyzing the impact of programming on alumni engagement
  • Conducting detailed analysis and evaluation to determine trends/patterns and make recommendations to senior university officials
  • Developing a comprehensive and integrated marketing strategy, ensuring that all programming issupported and enhanced by fully integrated, multi-channel marketing, social media outreach and internal communications
  • Drafting and editing speaking and briefing notes
  • Directing the activities of a single ongoing staff-appointed employee

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably from the University of Toronto; or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years of progressive experience in Alumni Relations, including planning and executing alumni initiatives.
  • Demonstrated progression of responsibility and leadership.
  • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and detailed budgets.
  • Experience managing marketing and communications initiatives from ideation to execution.
  • Experience using market research, and program data to evaluate initiatives and make recommendations.
  • Experience tactfully and independently managing relationships with stakeholders across all levels of management within a highly matrixed organization.
  • Strong project management skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing projects and priorities
  • Advanced analytical skills, including the ability to assess data from multiple sources in order to make informed decisions and recommendations.
  • Exemplary writing and communication skills are essential. Must be an effective and engaging public speaker.
  • Ability to take a broad perspective and link strategies to plans and objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including a demonstrated ability to influence without authority, and to motivate and inspire others.
  • Must be able to work some evenings and weekends with domestic and international travel required.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone USW Pay Band 14 -- $91,677. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $117,242. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
