Position Summary
The Business Process Specialist oversees the development, implementation, and optimization of business systems to improve efficiency and scalability. This role ensures seamless system integration, collaborates with teams to identify needs, and leads upgrades and troubleshooting to maximize productivity.
Responsibilities: System Management and Optimization
- Oversee the coordination of departments through enterprise systems (e.g., SAP) to ensure seamless workflows and operational efficiency.
- Optimize organizational processes by analyzing system usage, identifying gaps, and implementing improvements.
- Ensure business systems support cross-functional collaboration and align with company objectives.
- Work with stakeholders to enhance system capabilities, streamline data flow, and improve decision-making.
Process Creation, Improvement and Efficiency
- Develop, refine, and standardize organizational processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Identify inefficiencies in existing workflows and implement data-driven solutions to improve performance.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to design and document best practices that align with business objectives.
- Leverage enterprise systems (e.g., SAP) to automate tasks, reduce redundancies, and improve cross-departmental coordination.
- Monitor process effectiveness, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and adjust strategies as needed to drive continuous improvement.
Reporting Performance & Analysis
- Develop and maintain reporting frameworks to track system performance, process efficiency, and key operational metrics.
- Analyze data from enterprise systems (e.g., SAP) to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular reports and insights to leadership, supporting data-driven decision-making.
- Establish benchmarks and performance indicators to measure the success of process optimizations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine reporting needs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Work with the Plants on Power BI reporting functions to drive the use of standardized reports through data validation and process training
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of related business experience.
- Business Administration Degree or Supply Chain Management Degree an asset.
- Proficiency in English, spoken and written
- Proficiency in French, an asset
- Advanced Computer skills (Microsoft Office), knowledge in SAP (IBP system is an asset), Power BI is an asset
- Ability to understand how systems, processes, and departments interconnect to drive business outcomes
- Skilled in identifying inefficiencies, streamlining workflows, and implementing scalable solutions
- Proficient in analyzing system data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights
- Skilled in guiding teams through system transitions and process updates
- Detail-oriented in managing system configurations, ensuring data accuracy, and delivering precise reports
- Product knowledge in outdoor building materials industry (lumber & composite) is an asset
