VanPile is seeking a Project Coordinator with a strong estimating mindset—someone who enjoys working with numbers, plans, and people, and who wants to follow a project from early pricing through execution in the field. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys estimating today and project coordination tomorrow, and who values seeing their work come to life on site.
You’ll work closely with our Estimating Team while gaining meaningful exposure to active construction sites, setting you up for long‑term growth within project delivery and coordination.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, takeoffs, and construction schedules
- Support the Estimating Team during bid preparation and review
- Track project costs, budgets, and financial reporting
- Establish and maintain project cost codes
- Support field teams with construction planning, procedures, and best practices
- Assist with subcontractor coordination, documentation, and reporting
- Gain progressive involvement in project coordination and site support
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience on heavy civil or marine construction projects
- Degree in Engineering or Diploma in Civil Technology
- Strong background or interest in estimating, cost control, and planning
- Proficiency in Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with construction methods, sequencing, and safety standards
- A proactive mindset with a desire to grow into project coordination roles

- Cost estimation & budget tracking expertise
- Project scheduling & planning (MS Project / Primavera)
- Document control & reporting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Problem‑solving and critical thinking abilities

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive Compensation
- Salary range: $75,000 – $100,000 per annum
- Company‑paid RRSP contributions and bonus eligibility
(Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, and Carlson Construction Group’s compensation policy.)
