Assistant Shift Engineer - 2nd Class
About the role
What you’ll do The 2nd Class Assistant Shift Engineer is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of this 1st Class Steam Plant. They will work closely with and be able to perform the 2nd class shift engineer duties. Maintain positive relationships with plant personnel, contractors, customers, and regulatory authorities, and follow all provincial safety regulations.
What we’re looking for Valid 2nd Class Power Engineer certificate issued by TSSA. Have strong technical skills and be able to work safely alone or in a team environment. Process the skills and confidence to successfully perform the duties of the shift engineer as required. Must be capable of performing basic maintenance tasks as required. Be able to perform W@H and Confined Space tasks. Ability to work rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends, and holidays) Hold a valid Ontario drivers license. This position is available immediately and probation will start once the candidate starts to work. This position will have direct contact with service contractors, suppliers, inspectors (insurance and government) and customers Attendance, punctuality, appearance, and positive behaviour required to foster positive. relations with contractors, clients, staff, etc., that is in line with a leadership position. Maintain accurate operational records and contribute to safety and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong attention to safety, detail, and troubleshooting.

Compensation $ 45.40-$46.90 CAD per hour.
