Method Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities: As a Method Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining engine maintenance and component repair processes to ensure efficient and high-quality execution. You will collaborate closely with engineering, maintenance, supply chain, quality, and continuous improvement teams to implement best practices and drive operational excellence.
- Analyze and define manufacturing methods and workflows for maintenance and repair capabilities (new and existing).
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including work instructions, process sheets, parts, and tooling requirements.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering and supply chain teams to ensure effective methods are developed and implemented.
- Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies.
- Support the introduction of new technologies, equipment, and automation into production.
- Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and root cause investigations for production issues.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and customer requirements.
- Participate in PFMEA, control plans, and risk assessments.
- Provide technical support to maintenance teams and train operators on new processes.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, aerospace engineering or related field; alternatively, a certified AME with equivalent relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or methods engineering role, preferably in aerospace.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, composites, or sheet metal.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
