About the role

Located in the heart of Nunavut, Agnico-Eagle Meadowbank Complex is definitely a unique place to work. Surrounded by tundra in a low Arctic environment, this client offers an exceptional Fly-In/Fly-Out (FIFO) job opportunity and hires over 1,100 employees across its Meadowbank and Amaruq mine sites!

We are currently looking for an experienced Truck and Coach Technician (Red Seal / 310T) for the Meadowbank mine.

Under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman, the Truck and Coach Mechanic will be responsible for the inspection, diagnostics, repair, modification, improvement, and preventive maintenance of transport trucks and heavy trailers used on the mine site.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel trucks and trailers;
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on fleet vehicles and mining transport units;
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer and mine-site standards;
  • Read and interpret mechanical and hydraulic schematics;
  • Carry out occasional welding and fabrication work;
  • Select and install appropriate OEM or aftermarket components to improve performance and reliability;
  • Ensure compliance with mine safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Hold a Truck and Coach Technician certification (Red Seal / 310T) or a diploma in Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanics / Mobile Machinery;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) (e.g., Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Mack, or Volvo);
  • Exprience in the mining or forestry industry, mandatory;
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagrams;
  • Skills in hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding;
  • Strong diagnostic and teamwork abilities;
  • Willingness to work on a 14 days on / 14 days off rotation, alternating day and night shifts (FIFO);
  • Previous experience on a mine site or in the mining industry is an asset.

Working Conditions and Benefits

  • Permanent, full-time position;
  • Hourly salary between 38.42$ and 52.78$;
  • Overtime at 1.5x for hours beyond 40 per week, weekends, and statutory holidays;
  • Hourly night premium of 1.00$;
  • 14/14 rotation schedule, 12-hour shifts (day and night);
  • Fly-In/Fly-Out (FIFO) transportation provided from Mirabel or Val-d’Or airports;
  • Camp accommodations and meals provided;
  • Air travel allowance paid upon site entry and exit;
  • Tools and work equipment provided on the mine site;
  • Group insurance, pension plan, and work clothing allowance;
