PRIDE Seeds is currently seeking a focused and self-motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a full-time permanent Inventory and Quality Manager. Position Summary The PRIDE Seeds Inventory and Quality Manager role is to oversee and monitor all production process flows, related attributes, and associated activities with a strong emphasis on people leadership and SAP expertise. To ensure that the correct product is available at the proper location in a timely and efficient manner to support the retail sales needs of AgReliant Genetics. The Inventory and Quality Controller is responsible to ensure the accuracy of inventory including bagging, shipping, or controlling. Manage all inventory items after harvest. Manage main warehouse and multiple off-site facilities and bulk storage locations with varying levels of products while managing inventory records.
Position reports to PRIDE Seeds Director, Operations.
Responsibilities Manage staff:
- Manage the daily flow of work and appropriate staffing levels for department.
- Oversee team efforts, provide necessary training and guidance to ensure development for proficiency in duties, coach and mentor, and complete performance reviews.
- Manage training for office and production duties.
- Lead a team in the preparation of boxes for packaging and repairs.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, customer service, and professionalism.
Manage And Control Inventory
- Operate SAP data processing system with expertise.
- Manage all inventory creation activities; receiving, bagging, re-bagging, retagging repositioning, transfers, and disposals to have the correct inventory in the proper place based on sales orders.
- Manage all lot status assignments for lots of inventory originating at all locations.
- Manage the distribution of products to the entire Canadian dealer network and ensure timetables are adhered to.
- Ensure the accuracy of all inventories entered into the inventory record system.
- Manage main warehouse and multiple off-site facilities and bulk storage locations with varying levels of product. Managing inventory records for all products.
- Manage detailed inventory count procedures for the recording and reporting of inventories on a monthly basis and at year-end audit.
- Communicate supply forecasts for all products to the Commercial group which includes providing estimates by grade size. Administer grade size restrictions on specialty products.
- Integrate field, plant and storage activities associated with the current year’s field production plan, and operational flows to identify areas of concern.
- Manage and procure all supply items needed to support site operations including, but not limited to, bags, tags, totes and BCBs.
- Partner with Conditioning Supervisor to integrate all physical inventory activities into the software support database.
- Manage communication with laboratory and supply chain groups.
- Communicate with the primary supply manager, warehouse, and other IQ members to facilitate all transfers and trades.
- Serve as a backup logistics contact for all wholesale and inter-brand trades and provide timely responses for said requests.
- Manage the directing, overseeing, and reporting on a monthly program of cycle counting.
- Assist in managing and procuring all supply items needed to support site operations, including, but not limited to, bags, tags, treatment, and miscellaneous supply items.
- Assist in managing and procuring site refuge inventory required for new crop blending processes.
- Perform frequent and timely reviews for inventoried lots unsampled or untested, with focus on trait-related items.
- Warehouse finished product and supplies, including checking for accuracy.
- Facilitate, communicate, and maintain relationships with outside vendors and contractors.
- Complete all documentation and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage production activities through work orders and processing contracts proved to the onsite and 3rd party processors.
Manage And Control Quality
- Manage seed testing and tag room areas to ensure that effective quality control measures are implemented and maintained to meet the Canadian Seeds Act and Seeds Regulations.
- Assist in ensuring that the Company operates as an approved conditioner and meets all the requirements of the Canadian Seed Institute.
- Actively review lot testing data and maintain a suspect list for all lots with substandard data for review with VP Production
- Create and communicate suspect lists for all lots with substandard data to VP, sales, and logistics.
- Manage frequent and timely reviews for inventoried lots unsampled or untested, paying particular attention to trait related items.
- Combine efforts with Process and Safety Coordinator/Manager, Customer Service and Supply Manager to ensure that the company is in constant compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Manage sample creation, testing requirements, and test data analysis.
- Manage communications with outside processors on all quality requirements and procedures. Maintain third party QMS manual.
- Manage duties assigned to meet company quality standards including maintenance, housekeeping, and safety.

Education/Experience
- University degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of management experience required or five (5) or more years of inventory or quality experience.
- Experience working in the seed industry.
Knowlede/Skills/Abilities
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent team building skills.
- Demonstrated self-motivation, initiative, assertiveness, and results orientation.
- Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Physical Demands
- Ability to work required hours, including occasional overtime and weekends.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Occasional travel required.
Notation
- Role is a salaried position: 40 hours per week, with occasional Saturdays and overtime, paid as an annual salary.
- “Regular” schedule is 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday with one 30-minute unpaid break daily.
