A rare opportunity is available for golf professionals in Québec!

Since Parcours du Cerf opened in 1992, only one professional, Mr. Benoit Boudreau, has held this position. After a successful career, Mr. Boudreau and the management of Parcours du Cerf wish to make a smooth and harmonious transition by recruiting a new professional.

Among other responsibilities, the new professional will manage the golf shop, which serves more than 70,000 golfers per season. The professional will also be responsible for developing the golf academy and managing the driving range, which welcomes more than 100,000 visitors per season. The professional will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the academy, coach golfers of all levels, and actively participate in club life. The professional will also be responsible for managing tee times using GGGolf software and supervising employees to welcome approximately 40 external tournaments and daily golfers.

As in any large golf organization, this is a year-round position.

  • Recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising all golf staff, including teaching assistants and professionals, external assistants, caddies, and course marshals;
  • Implementing policies and procedures and organizing regular staff meetings;
  • Supervising all golf-related services and operations;
  • Supervising the reservation system, tee times, and playing time;
  • Monitoring and verifying all players and guests;
  • Enforcing all rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course;
  • Assist in the development and management of an innovative tournament program that caters to all customer segments in collaboration with the course committee;
  • Develop and supervise golf instruction and player development programs for all customer segments;
  • Maintain close working relationships with the Director of Operations and other department heads;
  • Participate in budget preparation, including forecasting and reviewing all golf-related revenues and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis;
  • Maintain and supervise a profitable merchandise concession that is consistent with customer demographics and needs;
  • Implement cash controls and systems to ensure the security of assets, inventory, and resources;
  • Oversee and approve all weekly timesheets/payroll for golf department staff, purchase orders, and invoices;
  • Oversee physical inventories and merchandise presentation. Participate in the implementation of systems necessary for inventory protection;
  • Participate in the publication of newsletters, informational and promotional materials.

Qualifications

  • PGA Class “A” professional preferred;
  • Fluency in French and English;
  • Strong desire to provide exceptional customer service;
  • Creative and innovative;
  • Ability to take initiative and solve problems effectively;
  • Highly organized, with experience in event management, leagues, and retail sales;
  • Engaging personality and good work habits;
  • Ability to learn and develop skills;
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel software;
  • Experience with the GGGolf software system.

Compensation Salary between $80,000 and $200,000

The candidate will be the owner of the store and all lessons given at the club, so several factors may affect the remuneration of the future occupant of this position.
