About the role

Insight Global is seeking a Functional Payroll Senior Consultant to support a leading global consulting organization on a long-term engagement. This role operates within an Application Management Services (AMS) model, focused on post-implementation support, optimization, and enhancement of Workday Payroll, with a strong emphasis on Canadian Payroll.

This individual will serve as the Workday Payroll SME, owning functional configuration, payroll processing support, and ongoing system optimization. You will partner closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT to ensure accurate, compliant, and scalable payroll operations while driving enhancements and supporting production stability. What You’ll Do Own end-to-end payroll support in a post-production / AMS environment Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into Workday solutions Ensure compliance with Canadian payroll legislation and union agreements Support payroll integrations and assess downstream impacts across Workday modules Troubleshoot payroll and data issues, performing root cause analysis and resolution Configure and optimize Workday Payroll, including enhancements and defect fixes Lead and support testing efforts (unit, regression, UAT) and maintain clear documentation Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on payroll best practices Key Responsibilities Provide functional support for Workday Payroll, ensuring system stability and business continuity Serve as the primary contact for payroll-related incidents, service requests, and enhancements Lead client discussions across requirements, user stories, configuration, testing, and documentation Maintain expertise in Workday Canadian Payroll, including compliance and processing rules Support Workday releases, feature adoption, regression testing, and impact assessments Identify opportunities for efficiency, optimization, and continuous improvement Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements to improve payroll operations and outcomes Required Experience 5+ years of payroll support experience 3+ years of hands-on Workday Payroll support Workday Payroll Certification Strong experience with Canadian Payroll Experience in AMS / post-implementation support environments Comfortable acting as the first point of contact for payroll issues (triage through resolution) Experience with system configuration, enhancements, and defect resolution Proven ability to resolve post-implementation issues tied to design gaps or misconfigurations Strong communication, documentation, and client-facing skills
