Your role:
- Assisting with the preparation and review of various Canadian income tax returns (T1, T2, T3 returns)
- Work with Tax Managers and Partners to develop and implement tax planning projects including research of tax issues and preparation of memoranda
- Identify issues and errors with respect to Canadian income tax filings, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions
- Correspond with clients and various government agencies to address and resolve client tax compliance issues
- Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations
- Collaborate with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas, materiality and deadlines
- Be a mentor to junior team members
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all client tax files and correspondence.
- Preparation and presentation of technical sessions to firm staff
- Provide personal, attentive service to clients to encourage productive working relationships and identify client service opportunities
What you bring to the table:
- Completion of Bachelor’s Degree in either Business or Law
- Intention to enroll or have enrolled in the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course and/or Master of Taxation Course
- 3 – 5 years of accounting experience, tax experience considered an asset
- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, and tax research software
- Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, project management and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and research skills, and the creativity to identify problems and potential solutions
- Professional manner, strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to provide value-added service to clients and strong understanding of a client-focused fast paced work environment including related deadlines.
- Ability to effectively pivot between tasks, prioritize and manage deliverables to meet conflicting deadlines
- A passion for tax work!

Job type:
Permanent, Full-time
Salary range: $65,000 - $98,000 a year
The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will be based on a combination of factors including relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market alignment.
