Visual Merchandiser (18 Month Contract)

To drive the development and communication of innovative, tactical programs for in-store merchandising, visual presentation and in-store signage. Partners with departmental Merchants and Vendors in product line reviews and project planning meetings to develop merchandising strategies, design initiatives, fixture concepts and communication vehicles that drive increased sales to that initiative and enhances the overall customer experience. Supports strategies to implement new merchandising objectives for the company**.**
Key Responsibilities:
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Execution
- Partner with Merchandising, eComm, Space Planning, Marketing, Operations, In-store Execution, and third-party teams to drive merchandising strategies and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Attend product line reviews and weekly planning/status meetings to stay aligned with cross-functional goals.
- Collaborate with US and Mexico Visual Merchandising teams to share standards, best practices, and project insights.
Merchandising Strategy & Visual Development
- Identify key customer and associate experiences and translate them into visual concepts including product merchandising, signage, fixturing, and retail-ready packaging.
- Construct proof-of-concept bay sets and review with merchants and senior leadership before store rollout.
- Develop and communicate core standards and guidelines for merchandising, signage, fixturing, and displays to vendors and internal teams.
- Identify and develop new fixtures in collaboration with vendors and the fixture design team.
Insights, Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Present competitive analysis including merchandising best practices, bay standards, store feedback, and US strategies.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and resolve field and planning issues promptly.

Travel Requirements:
- Travel within the GTA: 50%
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles

- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable
Minimum Education:
- Requirement The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree/diploma or combination of equivalent work experience in a field of study related to the job.
Minimum Years of Work Experience:
- Five years of work experience in a visual merchandising position in a retail environment and 2 years of project management experience is considered an asset

- Experience with Illustrator, Photoshop and 3D drawings would be an asset
