MDS, a world leader in designing and constructing gas turbine engine test equipment and facilities, has a requirement for a Construction Integrator .

The Construction Integrator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the design and construction aspects of MDS test facility projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, and clients, this role ensures construction activities are well-integrated with project requirements, delivered on schedule, and executed to the highest quality standards.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist and or manage construction projects 
  • Assist and or manage construction design ( Architectural, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical)
  • Responsible for performing design review of architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural documents and provide timely feedback to appropriate team members utilizing company document tracking tools. Ensure contract requirements are incorporated into the design and MDS test systems interfaces are established.
  • Review and approve interface specific shop drawings for submission in a timely manner to all appropriate parties. Manage and administer the production of coordination drawings. 
  • Perform site visits and the timely close-out of projects including completion of punch list and submission of all close-out documents (i.e. As-builts, manuals, certificate of occupancy, etc.)
  • Perform design coordination meetings, transcribe meeting minutes, create engineering coordination memos to construction design team, general contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Create cost estimates. Work with or assist the estimating group to establish preliminary construction cost (conceptual estimate), during the design/development process to achieve a target budget for approval by senior management.
  • Bid, negotiate, award, and prepare all subcontractor and vendor contracts in a timely manner including preparation of necessary bid documents, scope clarifications, and bid analysis spreadsheets.
  • Manage client and sub-contractor change orders with respect to construction activities
  • Write performance specifications for construction design teams and general contractors
  • Read client performance specifications and ensure these requirements are implemented into the construction design
  • Integrate MDS Test Systems into construction design
  • Communicate and distribute contract documents, project information, and any clarifications to field personnel and subcontractors in a timely manner. Maintain an up-to-date set of Contract documents in the office.
  • Work with the MDS Site Manager to monitor on-site safety regulations and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.

Education and Qualifications

  • College or university diploma/degree related to the construction field

What'll help your success?

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in design and construction coordination
  • Experience with construction cost estimation
  • Experience with MS Project
  • Advanced Level MS Excel/Word
  • Must be willing and able to travel internationally up to ~ 25% required for this position however willingness to transition from office integration to full time site based integration ( project specific up to ~ 1 year) considered an asset but not mandatory.
  • Second language skills are considered an asset. 
  • Familiar with the occupational health and safety act of Ontario or equivalent

The reference target total cash compensation range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and target variable compensation, is between $80,000 and $115,000 CAD annually. Actual compensation within this range will be determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role also includes additional comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, financial security, and work-life balance.
