About the role
Loopstra Nixon LLP is seeking a Trust Accounting Clerk to join our Finance group. This role is responsible for managing daily trust account transactions and ensuring the integrity of client funds across multiple bank accounts. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the closings inbox and coordinate the processing of wire requests and trust receipts.
- Prepare, review, and release wires via TD and BMO portals, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Post wire transactions, deposits, and disbursements in ProLaw.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to rejected wires or unidentified deposits.
- Support cheque certification, bank runs, and the depositing of trust cheques.
- Reconcile daily trust activity and prepare wire logs and reports for NetDocs.
- Respond to inquiries from lawyers, clerks, clients, and financial institutions regarding trust transactions.
- Provide backup support for wire review, trust reconciliation, and transaction entry as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience in trust accounting or legal finance, ideally in a law firm setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines and maintain precision under pressure.
