About the role

Role Overview We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Corporate Accountant to join our finance team. This role provides exposure to both financial reporting and commercial accounting, offering an opportunity to work across a wide range of responsibilities including external reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and business support.

The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can balance multiple priorities while delivering high-quality work. This role is a great fit for someone who wants to deepen their expertise in financial reporting while also gaining hands-on experience with commercial and operational accounting.

Key Responsibilities May Include Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting

  • Assist in the preparation of the interim and annual financial statements, MD&A, and related external reporting documents in compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in conducting accounting research, monitor new IFRS pronouncements (specifically supporting the new IFRS 18 reporting), and preparation of technical memos to support the Company’s interpretation and application of standards.
  • Assist with implementing accounting policy changes and ensuring compliance across the organization.

Commercial & Operational Accounting

  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules (e.g., revenue, inventory, pensions, share-based compensation).
  • Partner with operations and commercial teams to provide financial insight and analysis that supports business decision-making.
  • Contribute to the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis process.
  • Assist with reviewing contracts, transactions, and business cases to ensure appropriate accounting treatment.

Controls & Compliance

  • Support the ongoing review and enhancement of internal controls and financial processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure efficient and effective audit processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline reporting and accounting workflows.

Ad Hoc Support

  • Provide financial analysis and support for special projects and transactions.
  • Work closely with senior leaders in finance and across departments on strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA).
  • 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or a corporate finance environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and external financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with commercial or operational accounting an asset.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and in a team environment, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Working Conditions Primarily office-based role with occasional visits to plant or operational sites.

Minimal travel required (0–5%).
