Scrawlr is a company building a software platform and series of products dedicated to enabling alternative forms of communication layered on existing internet content, together with delivering superior monetization flexibility and content ownership for content generators.

We are working on a transformational project that we believe will have a global impact, and we expect our team members to solve complex, unique technical problems daily. Our team members are given a high degree of product ownership, including the latitude to propose and implement approaches that can be divergent from all standard or existing solutions.

This role will also work with our partner companies, with the primary focus being the operational support and compliance enforcement of a growing national life insurance brokerage and financial services provider.

Summary

We are seeking an IT/ Software Infrastructure Developer

to support an array of companies. This is an ideal role for a recent grad, or someone with a few years of experience, who thrives in autonomous environments and are driven by ownership, accountability, and delivering results with minimal oversight. This role combines advanced IT knowledge and abilities with system-level thinking and team influence. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, and a detailed oriented individual capable of enforcing regulations and internal policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Your role will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Architecting and maintaining infrastructure across AWS and GCP for scale, performance, and cost-efficiency
  • Defining and implementing infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform
  • Leading cloud security efforts and legal compliance
  • Managing platform services such as OpenVPN, and Google Workspace
  • Monitoring system performance, managing cloud spend, and resolving operational issues
  • Providing technical direction and mentorship to users
  • Aligning infrastructure priorities with product timelines, best practices and business goals

Required Skills or Experience

  • Experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering

  • Proven track record of working independently and delivering in low-supervision environments

  • Experience in CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI)

  • Experience with AWS and GCP cloud platforms

  • Strong understanding of cloud monitoring, performance, and cost optimization

  • Familiarity with VPN tools, especially OpenVPN

  • Basic proficiency in Python

    , and JavaScript

  • Experience with GitHub repository architecture and access control

  • Administration of Google Workspace and 1Password

  • Strong knowledge of cloud security practices and operational compliance

  • Demonstrated ability to influence systems, and drive results

Nice to Have Skills or Experience

  • AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
  • Security certifications (CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, Security+)
  • Experience with SOC2, ISO 27001, or GDPR compliance
  • Contributions to open-source infrastructure or internal platform tooling
  • Basic proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code
  • Building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and CircleCI
  • Reviewing and writing infrastructure and application code (primarily in PHP, Python, and JavaScript)

Compensation

  • $60,000 - $65,000 per year base salary

Position Type
