About the role

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in performing repairs and routine maintenance on trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire servicing.
- Support licensed mechanics with complex diagnostic and repair work.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment appropriately and safely.
- Review and understand work orders; document work performed and parts used.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Ensure tools and equipment are stored and maintained in good working condition.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any safety concerns or equipment issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:

Minimum 1–2 years of apprentice experience in truck, trailer, or heavy-duty equipment maintenance.

Currently enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program.

Working knowledge of basic truck systems including brakes, tires, suspension, and electrical components.

Ability to use standard tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.

Basic understanding of maintenance schedules and mechanical procedures.

Ability to read and interpret service manuals and work orders.
-
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
-
Ability to work in adverse conditions such as weather extremes, around fumes, noise, dust, and dirt.

Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Willingness to pursue further training and skill development as required.
