Role Description
The Senior Project Associate will provide direct support to the Managing Director across a wide-ranging portfolio of strategic initiatives. This role blends project coordination, organizational support, and project management. The successful candidate will be highly organized, adaptable, and able to operate across departments to ensure smooth execution of cross-cutting initiatives.
You will coordinate cross-departmental projects, support operational priorities, and ensure the timely delivery of grant requirements. This role is ideal for a versatile generalist who is passionate about international development, project management, and collaborative, impact-driven work environments.

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Coordinate high-value projects (e.g., restricted government grants, research and innovation projects), ensuring timelines, risks, and stakeholder engagement are tracked and escalated as needed.
- Consolidate and package deliverables, reports, and presentations so they are complete, high-quality, and ready for review.
- Align cross-departmental inputs with organizational strategic priorities.
- Contribute to concept notes, proposals, and consultant management for new or ongoing strategic initiatives.
Cross-Portfolio Project Coordination
- Provide hands-on project coordination support to departments reporting to the Managing Director including, Applied Learning, Communications, and Venn, our data analytics ecosystem.
- Track and monitor departmental work plans, milestones, and risks, and facilitate solutions to maintain momentum.
- Serve as a flexible resource for priority initiatives and special projects across departments.
- Coordinate research and innovation activities, including pilots, donor deliverables, and sector-facing evidence generation.
Executive Support
- Partner with the Managing Director to advance organizational priorities and streamline multi-departmental workflows.
- Prepare briefs, project updates, and strategic communications for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring materials are concise and ready for review.
- Support proposal development for research and innovation grants by coordinating inputs and drafting sections as needed.
- Contribute to pilots, experiments, or strategic growth initiatives as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
Skills and Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Business Administration, Public Policy, Communications, or related discipline).
- 4 – 7 Years of professional experience in project coordination, program management, operations, or consulting.
- Experience working with grants, donor-funded projects, or cross-departmental initiatives is an asset.
Core Skills
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent writing and communication skills; able to prepare briefs, reports, and presentations for diverse audiences.
- Analytical thinker, able to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
