Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm (flexible to work outside shift hours as required). Must be willing to travel to all different terminals across Canada SUMMARY The Refrigeration & Maintenance Technician supports maintenance and repair activities across multiple terminal locations. This role assists with preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs related to dock equipment, refrigeration systems, and general facility infrastructure while ensuring safe and efficient terminal operations. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, regular travel between terminals, and a willingness to learn all aspects of facility and refrigeration maintenance. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the Property – Refrigeration & Maintenance Supervisor with building and facility maintenance activities across multiple terminal locations. Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on: Dock doors and dock door operators Dock plates and dock levelers Gates, fencing, lighting, ceiling fans, and related building systems General terminal and facility equipment Support routine refrigeration inspections, maintenance, and repair work under supervision. Travel to terminals as required to assist with maintenance projects, repairs, and inspections. Complete general building repairs and maintenance. Including painting, minor carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical work. Assist with troubleshooting equipment and coordinating repairs with outside contractors and service providers. Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance and repair needs. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage. Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments within all facilities. Participate in after-hours, emergency, or on-call maintenance support as required. Demonstrate a willingness to learn all aspects of building maintenance and refrigeration systems. Support additional maintenance and operational projects as assigned by the Supervisor. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS Two (2) years of experience in general building, facility, or maintenance work preferred. Experience with dock equipment, door operators, or related facility systems is considered an asset. Refrigeration knowledge or previous experience is required Willingness to learn refrigeration systems and broader facility maintenance operations. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Comfortable performing physical work including lifting, climbing ladders, bending, and working at heights. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems preferred. Valid G driver’s license required. Ability and willingness to travel regularly between terminal locations. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to use computers or mobile devices for maintenance logs and work orders. Trade certification or related maintenance experience is considered an asset. WORKING CONDITIONS Travel between terminal locations is required. On-call and overtime work may be required. Work performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
