Development Officer (Term Position) - La Crete

ackenzie County is currently inviting applications for a Development Officer position. The primary location for this position will be in La Crete, however, the individual may be required to work in other areas of the municipality as per operational requirements. This is a full-time unionized position with a 40 hour work week (8 hours per day) Monday to Friday. This is a term position which will commence immediately and end in June 2026.
Reporting to the Director of Planning and Development, the successful applicant will be responsible for:
U- nder the direction of the Director of Planning and Development, support with Planning and Development projects. A- ssist ratepayers with Road/Lane Closure, Disposal of Municipal Reserve, Lot Consolidation & Land Use Bylaw Amendment applications; R- esponsible for the creation and development of new planning and development bylaws and policies; P- repare offer to purchase agreements, land transfer agreements, easement agreements, and URW agreements; A- s required, responsible for the processing of development permit applications and subdivision applications according to the County’s policies and bylaws; M- aintain airport lease agreements; P- repare caveats, discharge of caveats, and submit to Land Titles Office for registration; P- repare documents for the Municipal Planning Commission and the Inter-municipal Planning Commission and present items; O- ther duties as required.

equirements for this position are:
C- ompletion of Grade 12 Diploma, post-secondary is an asset; T- wo (2) years of experience in an administrative position is an asset; K- nowledge of Municipal Government Act as it relates to Planning & Development; K- nowledge of application of Land Use Bylaws and land development issues; W- orking knowledge of GIS systems (AutoCAD, Arc View) is an asset; K- nowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint); S- trong attention to detail and timelines; A- bility to effectively communicate both orally & in writing with the public and with municipal, provincial and federal agencies; A- bility to work with minimal supervision; A- bility to work in a team environment; A- bility to deal effectively with the public in carrying out the duties of administering the provision of the Land Use Bylaw; V- alid Class 5 driver`s license; E- vidence of successfully passing a police Criminal Record Check.

alary Range: $63,086 – $88,733 per annum. Mackenzie County offers a Comprehensive Benefit Package.
