POSITION OVERVIEW
The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring that all Childventures campuses are well-maintained, compliant with health and safety regulations, and fully operational. Reporting to the President/CEO, this role oversees facilities operations across 12 locations in the GTHA, manages third-party vendors, coordinates renovations and maintenance schedules, and performs light repairs when necessary. The Facilities Manager also plays a key role in budget management and vendor relationship development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all maintenance operations and facility upkeep within approved budgets
- Coordinate and manage renovation projects, including timelines, costs, and vendor oversight
- Perform basic hands-on repairs (e.g., doors, sinks, equipment, appliances, minor plumbing)
- Develop and maintain preferred vendor relationships for specialized services
- Manage contracts for third-party services (e.g., snow removal, HVAC, landscaping, cleaning)
- Schedule and supervise repairs and maintenance work across all sites
- Monitor compliance with building codes, fire safety, and Ministry standards for childcare facilities
- Plan and track facilities-related projects, budgets, and timelines
- Ensure centres are safe, clean, and operational at all times
- Other duties as assigned to support the organization’s facilities strategy
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
- College diploma (facilities management) or equivalent
- Licensed Journeyman Contractor an asset
- Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities management, including vendor and budget oversight
- Experience managing multiple locations is considered an asset
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and general building operations
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and basic toolset
MINISTRY REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 Step TB
- Updated Immunizations (Tetanus, MMR)
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
