Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Journeyman Automotive Technician role based in Canada at Red Deer Acura. The technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Acura vehicles according to manufacturer standards and dealership policies. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine maintenance services, conducting inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and completing warranty and non-warranty repairs. The role involves using diagnostic tools and equipment, documenting work performed in repair orders, and communicating clearly with service advisors and other team members. The technician is expected to follow safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized work area, and contribute to a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

Journeyperson automotive technician certification (or equivalent provincial/territorial qualification) and experience working with modern vehicle systems. Proficiency in vehicle diagnostics, mechanical repair, and routine maintenance, including brakes, suspension, drivetrain, and basic electrical systems. Ability to use diagnostic equipment, service manuals, and computer-based repair information systems to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety practices, and ability to follow manufacturer and dealership repair procedures. Effective communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and provide clear documentation of all work performed. Physical ability to perform hands-on automotive work, including lifting components, standing for extended periods, and using hand and power tools safely. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with Acura or other luxury brands is an asset. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and certification programs to stay current with evolving automotive technologies.
