JOB SUMMARY
This Clinical Resource Specialist role is responsible for providing education to Health Care Professionals on the safe and effective use of the Medline Advanced Wound Care (AWC) and Skin Care products. In addition, etiological educational modules for Registered Staff are to be provided to LTC homes on AWC.
Reporting to: Senior Director Clinical Services, LTC
Position Type: Full-time
Portfolio: Advanced Wound Care
Territory: Eastern Ontario. The ideal candidate is centrally located within the territory between Ottawa and East of Toronto.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work alongside LTC Sales representatives and Clinical Support Specialists to increase account growth and implement new corporate and individual LTC homes to the Skin Health Program.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills to ensure evaluations and implementations are completed successfully.
- Conduct presentations, education and/or in-services to educate customers on wound & skin care products.
- Engage in the support of the existing and development of new customer policies and procedures.
- Complete account updates on a weekly basis utilizing designed spread sheets.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on Best Practice Recommendations as it pertains to Skin and Wound Care.
- Work with the LTC team to develop new program tools to enhance account implementation and sustainability.
- Support the healthcare facilities policy and practices at all times.
- Attend conferences and sales meetings (mandatory).
- Complete other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University Nursing Degree
- RN | RPN Current Registration
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience, working with an interdisciplinary clinical team in an Acute Care, LTC or Home Care setting.
- Minimum of 3 years industry experience in Medical Devices, specifically Wound and Skin Care.
- Experience in working on RFP’s is preferable.
- Ideal candidate is a Nurse Specializing in Wound Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC), has completed the IIWCC course or has clinical bed-side experience in Skin Health & Advanced Wound Care.
- Good computer skills (Excel/MS Word/PowerPoint) required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills & client service skills (verbal and written).
- Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
- Proven problem solver with solid analytical skills.
- Exceptional time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff, peers, and industry colleagues/contacts in a team environment.
- Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to a wide variety of tasks and functions.
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to change.
- Demonstrates a commitment to service, organization values and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor at all times.
- Confident in developing and providing education based on adult learning principles.
- Ambitious and self-motivated.
- Able to work independently with very minimal supervision.
- Driver’s license required.
- Ability to travel overnight when required.
- Able to re-organize days to accommodate needs for LTC homes.
Must live within designated territory.
