About The Role The Senior Analyst, Fund Accounting Oversight (FAO), is a key member of Asset Management Operations responsible for accurate and timely fund valuations. This role upholds IGM’s regulatory oversight obligations, implements the Fund Oversight Framework, and works with third-party administrators and internal teams. The position focuses on maintaining unitholder interests through strong controls, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities Fund Accounting Oversight & NAV Governance

  • Oversee NAV production conducted by external service providers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with fund documents and regulatory standards.
  • Review, challenge, and approve NAV escalations, price exceptions, valuation methodologies, stale pricing, corporate actions, and reconciliation variances related to cash and assets.
  • Monitor execution of critical controls, proactively identifying and mitigating risks associated with valuation.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting cycles, emphasizing valuation integrity and readiness for audits.

Vendor & Service Provider Oversight

  • Maintain strong oversight of third-party fund accounting providers by monitoring SLA/SLD performance, conducting trend analyses, and validating operational effectiveness in line with the IGM Fund Oversight Framework.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve NAV errors, operational exceptions, and process gaps, ensuring timely resolution and implementing preventative measures.
  • Participate in SOC reporting reviews, custody transitions, reconciliation improvements, and broader vendor governance initiatives.

Risk Management, Issue Resolution & Preventative Controls

  • Investigate NAV errors, valuation discrepancies, and operational incidents to identify root causes and assess unitholder impact.
  • Recommend and monitor preventative measures to strengthen internal controls and minimize recurrence.
  • Support the management of emerging risks associated with derivatives, new product types, and changing regulatory standards.

Stakeholder Engagement & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for internal clients, including Investment Management, Product, Tax, Fund Reporting, Finance, Operations, and Compliance teams.
  • Provide clear guidance, prompt responses, and actionable insights regarding valuation inquiries, fund events, product developments, and operational changes.

Continuous Improvement & Strategic Initiatives

  • Contribute to the modernization of Fund Oversight through automation, process redesign, enhancements, and operational efficiency efforts.
  • Participate in cross-departmental projects such as custody/accounting system migrations, new fund launches, and system integrations.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, process maps, controls, and procedural guidelines in alignment with audit standards.

Qualifications Technical Expertise

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fund accounting, valuation oversight, NAV operations, or related asset management functions.
  • Thorough understanding of fund valuation principles, pricing methodologies, reconciliation workflows, and various financial instruments including equities, fixed income, and alternatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; knowledge of AI tools and Power BI; familiarity with fundamental fund accounting and fund administration systems.
  • Basic understanding of Python is considered an asset.

Professional Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and communicate valuation impacts effectively.
  • Demonstrated accountability, ownership, and sound judgment when handling escalations and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication abilities, capable of influencing and collaborating across teams and with vendors.
  • Proven aptitude for navigating complex, multi-party operating models and managing priorities in dynamic environments.

Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) certification or equivalent professional expertise.
  • Progress toward CFA, CPA, or other relevant industry certifications is considered an advantage.

The expected annual base salary range for this role is ($69,000 - $83,500), which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.
