About the role
Volunteer Position Position(s) Available
- Biology DSC Co-President (1) (*note that there is only one position available*)
A Department Student Council President advocates on behalf of the students in their department. In addition, the DSC President is the leader of a committee of undergraduate students that is responsible for the planning and execution of events tailored to their specific department. The DSC Co-Presidents report to the ASUS Academics Commissioner.
Applications will remain open until a competitive candidate pool is established. The closing date will be determined based on the volume and quality of received applications . Time Commitment and Remuneration Approximately an 11 month-term from March 2025 to April 2026.

Time Commitment And Responsibilities
- Advocate for the interests of students in their respective department
- Organize, promote, and execute academic and social events for the department
- Prepare for and attend every Arts and Science Faculty Board
- Coordinate administration of USAT evaluations
- Submit a budget, strategic plan, and constitution to the Academics Commissioner
- Participate in DSC Assembly, to be held once a month
- Attend a monthly meeting with the Academics Commissioner or the Deputy Academics Commissioner
- Follow all provisions in the DSC Charter
