About the role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer with expertise in electrical design, PLCs, and robotic systems to support stamping operations and automation projects in Hamilton , ON region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using EPLAN .
  • Design and integrate PLC/HMI systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent) for stamping presses and robotic systems.
  • Program and troubleshoot industrial robots (FANUC, ABB, Motoman, or similar).
  • Collaborate with mechanical, automation, and production teams to develop efficient electrical and robotic solutions.
  • Prepare BOMs, technical documentation, and ensure compliance with CSA, NEC, and NFPA standards.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and debugging of stamping presses, robotic cells, and automation projects.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting for electrical and control systems on the production floor.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, reliability, and automation.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering/Design, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Electromechanical disciplines .
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Electrical Designer in a manufacturing or stamping environment.
  • Proven expertise with EPLAN software for electrical design.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial automation systems .
  • Hands-on experience with robotic programming and integration (FANUC, ABB, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in fast-paced production settings.
  • Excellent teamwork, documentation, and communication abilities.
