About the role

Overnight Crisis Intervention Specialist (Full-Time)

We are looking to hire a full-time Overnight Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our team at Stepping Stones Crisis Society. This is an awake overnight position with a rotating schedule of 4 nights on/4 nights off, then 3 nights on/3 nights off.

Duties:

  • Provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and support to women and children in shelter.
  • Admit, discharge, and complete intakes and assessments for clients.
  • Ensure safety and security of the shelter environment overnight.
  • Provide information, referrals, and community resources to clients.
  • Assist with client programming and activities.
  • Transport clients to appointments when necessary.
  • Complete documentation and maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform general duties such as cleaning, cooking, and laundry as needed.

The ideal candidate would:

  • Have post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Have 2–3 years’ experience in crisis intervention or a similar role.
  • Be compassionate, non-judgmental, and calm under pressure.
  • Possess strong communication and computer skills.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Hold current First Aid/CPR (ASIST and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention an asset).
  • Have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and clear Criminal & Child Intervention Checks.
