You will work in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for the financial accounting and budgeting systems for Bulkley Valley Credit Union, Bulkley Valley Financial Services and Bulkley Valley Insurance Services. You will assist in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets for review; compile and analyze budget request and justifications for expenditures; incorporate branch budgets into the overall budget; monitor budget, analyze and reconcile variances, and take corrective action. You will monitor and manage overall credit union and subsidiary general ledger accounts; monitor credit union accounting systems and procedures; identify short-comings and introduce new or improved accounting methods; develop and recommend to the Chief Financial Officer the implementation of new and revised accounting policies and standards. You will create an environment where the finance staff are encouraged to provide high quality service to our staff in a professional manner. You will support the creation of an Enhanced Service Commitment by encouraging the finance staff to professionally demonstrate BVCU’s Enhanced Service Commitment by efficiently providing administrative support to the branches, establishing and maintaining strong staff relationships, working as a member of the team, and setting a personal example of service and professionalism. The successful candidate will have a minimum 3 years’ accounting experience and a professional accounting designation (recognized by CPA) is required.
