Northern Lakes College has the following ongoing position available:
Administrator, Programs
Salary: $64,032 to $84,012 per year
Location: Slave Lake
July 2, 2026 to Ongoing
Qualifications:
- Two (2) year Business Administration or related diploma (or equivalent related education)
- Applicants with experience working in a health setting is preferred
- Three (3) to five (5) years administrative experience
- Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and data entry experience
- A clean vulnerable sector criminal record check prior to commencement
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license
- A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered
Department: Health
Nature and Scope of Work:
Reporting to the Chair, Paramedic Programs, this position is responsible for the administration of program offerings including interacting with students, internal and external stakeholders, and management as required to consistently provide exceptional programming. The position includes traveling within Northern Lakes College’s service region when required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supporting Students in Successful Program Completion
- Answering program related student questions and assisting students to connect with the appropriate College department as required
- Ensuring students are provided information for access to courses, student orientation, program schedules, program supports, and other important student-related program information
- Working with students to identify and overcome issues preventing successful program completion through discussion with students and referring students to suitable support persons as required
- Interacting with students throughout their program to ensure that they find their Northern Lakes College experience to be both beneficial and enjoyable
- Working with instructors and management to identify problem areas and developing plans to address these concerns
Program Reporting
- Assist in program administration such as Master Program Plans, updating program activity calendars, updating program homepages, student handbooks, etc.
- Relay information to program stakeholders regarding the success of individual programs, opportunities for program improvement/growth, and implications of market trends on program student numbers
- Assisting the Chair, Paramedic Programs and the Chair, Practical Nurse and Health Care Aide with administrative duties, such as scheduling and coordination of onsite labs, meetings, and accommodations for staff
Student Documentation Coordination
- Assist students to complete enrollment forms
- Ensure students have program schedules and other related documents necessary for their programs of study
- Investigate program documentation needs (internal and external) and implement systems to address these needs are required
Skills/Knowledge:
Office Administration Skills
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Demonstrated organization and prioritization skills
- Knowledge of customer confidentiality requirements
