Position Summary:
The Team Lead, Graduate Programs Admissions is responsible for leading the operational administration of graduate admissions processes within the Faculty of Health Disciplines (FHD). Under the supervision and direction of the Faculty Manager, this role ensures efficient and effective admission processing while maintaining compliance with university policies and procedures. The incumbent serves as a primary resource for faculty, staff, and applicants while supporting administrative operations related to graduate admissions.
This position requires organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within established guidelines. While the incumbent will provide oversight to admissions processes and assist in coordinating support staff, hiring and recruitment responsibilities remain with the Faculty Manager.
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary diploma (preferably in administration, education, or a related field) and at least three years of progressive administrative and leadership experience is required. An undergraduate degree is preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- At least 2 years of direct experience in post-secondary admissions or student services, is required.
- Strong knowledge of AU's policies and procedures, particularly related to graduate admissions.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in university systems such as Banner, MyCreds, Alfresco, CRM Recruit, EllucianSRM, Greymatter, Brightspace, Amazon Connect, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn to use new software packages and systems as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the role is essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with minimal supervision, but ability to recognize the need for keeping others informed, as required.
- Experience supervising, training, and mentoring staff in administrative processes, coupled with strong leadership, team-building skills, and proven conflict resolution expertise, is essential.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills as well as organizational, time-management, and administrative skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a complex, fast-paced environment.
