Fresh Advancements Ltd. is an importer and wholesaler of fresh produce at the Ontario Food Terminal. Our product line includes conventional and organic produce, including celery, citrus, apples, cherries and assorted berries. Fresh Advancements' customers enjoy access to major growers from across North America.
Job Brief
Our company is looking for a detail-oriented Food Safety Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- BRC requirements and clauses review, audit preparation and the program certification
- Prepare and organize the annual employees training for GMP, HACCP, and WHIMIS
- Assess retention samples and the product on the lines to maintain quality standards
- Conduct sample collections for finished products, air analysis, water analysis and environmental testing and send to 3rd party Lab for analysis
- HACCP Coordination and annual program review
- Prepare and distribute the master sanitation schedule to sanitation department
- Conduct chemical testing by using test strips kit to find accuracy of concentration ppm
- Monitor the CCP's and record the data
- Ensure proper organic repacking products and updated suppliers organic certificates
- Mock Recall Completion
- Respond and prepare the 3rd Party audit corrective action reports
- Prepare HACCP document Control Log and HACCP Change Log
- Keep in contact with CFIA
- Support and enforce GMP's and the overall quality assurance program
- HACCP and CCP annual validation and verification
- Respond to customer complaints, when it is required
- Create new product specification and revise old specification as needed
- Update SOP and Form binders as required
- Ensure quality of products meets the standards for specific customers
- Other duties as assigned
- Always keep work area clean and tidy
- Always wear proper PPE, as required
- Always work in compliance to GMP rules
Job Terms
- Job Type: Permanent Full Time
- Probationary Period: 3-months or 480 hours, whichever longer
- Work Location: Ontario Food Terminal, 165 The Queensway, Etobicoke ON, M8Y 1H8
- Shift Requirement: Mondays to Fridays, 6:30am to 3:00pm, 40 hours a week
- Compensation: $22 per hour
Qualifications
- Have previous related experience
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- BRC and HACCP Training Certifications
- University or College Degree
- Knowledge in the food service industry, preferably the produce sector
