As a Senior Project Manager - Environmental, you’ll play a key role in delivering environmental services across planning, design, and construction phases. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to ensure environmental compliance, risk and schedule considerations are adequately integrated throughout project lifecycles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working proactively and collaboratively with project teams as a senior environmental resource
- Managing projects and project tasks in alignment with Mott MacDonald policies and procedures. This includes supporting project teams to deliver high quality work and exercise sound commercial awareness.
- Supporting client managers and directors in engaging with clients to identify opportunities to support with environmental scope.
- Preparing technical reports, proposals, and stakeholder communication materials
- Managing environmental risk during project design, planning, and delivery
- Identifying and advising on potential environmental constraints and opportunities, and on compliance including environmental mitigation and management approaches
- Overseeing environmental assessments, permitting, and regulatory reviews both internally and utilizing subconsultants
- Providing input into regulatory and permitting strategies
- Coordinating with regulatory agencies (e.g., DFO, MWLRS, MoF) and integrating feedback from Indigenous communities
- Experience engaging directly with Indigenous communities is considered an asset
- Working knowledge of archaeological management and permitting is considered an asset.
We’re looking for someone who combines technical expertise with strong communication and collaboration skills.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or related field

10-15 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or environmental management of infrastructure projects

Demonstrated experience as a project manager, overseeing project delivery, budgeting, and scheduling to achieve project objectives in line with client needs and expectations

Strong knowledge of provincial (BC-focused) and Canadian federal environmental legislation and permitting processes

Experience with impact assessments, habitat studies, and mitigation planning
-
Construction environmental compliance and oversight experience
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team

Professional designation or eligibility for professional designation is considered an asset

In compliance with the B.C. Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range is from $135,000 - $155,000.
Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
