Genesis Downtown Vancouver is currently looking to fill the position of a Pre-Owned Sales Manager.
The Pre-Owned Sales Manager will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in planning, organizing, controlling, and measuring the employees and the activities of the Used Vehicle Department. She/he will be directly responsible for keeping the used vehicle inventory records and /or preparing the used vehicle salesmen’s monthly work schedule.
Essential Duties:
- Guide all salespersons/sales managers in setting their objectives on a long and short-range basis.
- Set sales and gross objectives for new vehicle salespeople.
- Assist the General Manager in forecasting controllable expense elements for the Used Vehicle Department as well as budget planning.
- Communicate with assigned salespeople to ensure that dealership policies and procedures are understood.
- Follow and enforce all company policy, procedures and processes.
- Evaluate monthly the gross performance of used vehicle salespeople.
- Ensure that used vehicle salespersons plan a day’s work each day.
- Assist in developing programs of improvement for those salespersons failing to reach their objectives.
- Recommend for dismissal any salesperson failing to meet company standards.
- Conduct daily and / or weekly sales training meetings as directed by the General Manager.
- Work with the salespeople/sales managers on programs/processes that will increase the used vehicle gross and increase F&I penetration.
- In determining used vehicle inventory, the number of units should not exceed 75 days’ supply. It is important to carry the right mixture of product and clear out of past models as quickly as possible.
- Hold salespeople/sales managers accountable to the company’s prospecting program and CRM systems to obtain maximum results.
- Evaluate the performance of used vehicle salespersons/sales managers on a monthly basis by using the salesperson review procedure, which is to be completed and returned to the General Manager by the 4th of every month.
- Develop and institute development plans based on salesperson/sales manager reviews.
- Coordinate the function of used vehicle salespeople with that of the Service Department, Parts Department and the Business Office.
- Oversee the efforts of new Vehicle salespeople to enhance the image of the dealership.
- Coordinate with other Sales Managers in programs that will enhance their personal and professional development.
- Fill in for Used and new Vehicle Manager in his/her absence.
- Handle customer complaints immediately and according to dealership guidelines.
- Monitor salesperson commissions and supply payroll information to the Accounting department.
- Serve as liaison with factory representatives.
- Attend Managers’ meetings as required.
- Keep an accurate account of floor traffic.
- Assist salespeople in closing deals.
- Review the handling of incoming sales calls.
- Ensure that all inventory be secure, maintained and displayed in the appropriate manner.
- Ensure that the Used Vehicle Delivery process is followed closely.
- Ensure that Product Knowledge and all manufacturer training are maintained at a very high level.
