The Law Clerk is responsible for assisting in the preparation and organization of legal documents and providing an overall exceptional customer service experience to all clients, all while upholding the standards of confidentiality.

Our client, a highly regarded and well established law firm located in North York is hiring! They are seeking a Real Estate Law Clerk to support the managing partner of the firm.

The Law Clerk is responsible for assisting in the preparation and organization of legal documents and providing an overall exceptional customer service experience to all clients, all while upholding the standards of confidentiality.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for financing transactions.
  • Perform sub-searches of title and off-title searches and addressing any issues noticed accordingly.
  • Prepare cheque requisitions and trust deposits/withdrawals and preparing expense reports and account balances
  • Corresponding directly with clients, other lawyer’s offices and municipalities.
  • Organize and maintaining physical and electronic files

Qualifications:

  • A diploma in a related Legal Administration and/or Law Clerk program or equivalent years of experience.
  • 6 + years of experience in a similar position in a Commercial Real Estate Law Practice and in particular in a lending practice.
  • Proficiency with PC Law, Microsoft Office Suite, Teraview, Conveyancer, and Lawyer Done Deal.
  • Experience with commercial loan transactions.
  • Demonstrates a professional demeanor, high ethical standards, and commitment to service excellent.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
