About This Role

Reporting to the IT Service Desk Team Lead, the IT Support Specialist will provide hands-on technical support to ensure reliable, secure, and effective technology services across Svante’s corporate and operational environments. The successful candidate will support end users, troubleshoot technical issues, maintain IT systems, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enable business operations and technology adoption. This role will work closely with the broader Digital Business team and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver an exceptional technology experience across the organization.

Key responsibilities include

Providing technical support for end-user requests, infrastructure-related issues, and IT service tickets while adhering to established Service Level Objectives (SLOs). Supporting employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including user account provisioning, access management, and technology setup. Troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and workplace technology issues across various platforms. Deploying and maintaining Windows laptops, managing IT assets, and supporting technology lifecycle management. Administering and supporting Microsoft environments, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and user account management. Supporting network infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, firewalls, switches, and access points in partnership with the Infrastructure team. Supporting corporate backup systems, disaster recovery solutions, and security best practices. Creating and maintaining technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures to improve service delivery.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate is a customer-focused IT professional who enjoys solving technical challenges, improving processes, and supporting a collaborative technology environment. You are comfortable working hands-on across a broad range of technologies and thrive in an environment where you can balance independent problem-solving with teamwork.

Qualifications include

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Experience in technical support, IT operations, or a related field. Solid knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure services, and enterprise technology environments. Working knowledge of networking concepts, including VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, and LAN/WAN environments. Experience supporting Active Directory, Microsoft 365 user administration, and related IT systems. Experience with IT service management platforms and ticketing systems; experience with Atlassian products is considered an asset. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset. This is a full-time permanent position based in Svante's HQ located in Burnaby, BC. The position follows a fully in-office working model (5 days/week).

Compensation & Benefits

Our client offers a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary in the range of CAD $52,600 - $65,700, comprehensive health and dental benefits, paid vacation, and the opportunity to play a meaningful leadership role within a growing technology organization committed to innovation and operational excellence.
